Legislative Branch of Government Government leaders are the major decision makers when it comes to overall regulation of our public education system. From School Board to the President of the United States, policies and decisions are determined by these men and women. It is incumbent upon parents, educators, and community members to tell our governmental leaders of the many and varied needs of our schools. These range from curriculum to school buildings and include text books, student materials, technology, furnishings, professional development, meal programs, utilities, maintenance, buses, salaries, etc.
Be confident and determined in contacting your government leaders. They want to hear from you as you provide them support and documentation on what our students, schools, and communities need. They are generally easy to speak with and if you do not get to speak to them directly their assistants very capably provide your concerns to our leaders.
Osceola County School Board Members School Board members are our grass roots legislators as it pertains to implementing policy for Osceola District Schools.
State Government State government leaders that impact our schools are our State Representatives and State Senators. Governor Crist is the chief elected official of the state.

Federal Government Our federal government does not generally have as great a direct impact on the funding of our schools but in recent years has had a major impact on policy... most significantly No Child Left Behind.
